John Thomas Field

Biography
He was born near Manchester, and studied under Frederick Bridge and John Stainer. Organist and choirmaster at Holywell, North Wales from 1868; at Christ church, Southport, Lancashire from 1870; St German's, Blackheath, London from 1872 and Christchurch, Lee Park, London from 1874 for at least 20 years. (The latter church,whose architect was George Gilbert Scott, was destroyed by bombing in 1940).
