Biography
John Travers was a choirboy at St. George's Chapel, Windsor and a pupil of Maurice Greene and Johann Christoph Pepusch. He was organist at several parish churches in London, including St. Paul's, Covent Garden
(1727) and Fulham
. He was appointed organist to the Chapel Royal in 1737 and remained in that post until his death in 1758.
