English text
O sleep my little Grand son,
O hush thee where thou art;
For I, thy mother's mother,
Now hold thee to my heart.
Thy mother rests from travail
away from every one.
She called to me: "O mother,
Come mind my little Son!"
And I have brought thee, Baby,
Soft dreams from Paradise.
The ox and ass they guard thee
With sweet adoring eyes.
Then sleep, my little Grand son,
Against my body curled.
For one day thou shalt waken
to waken wide the world!
