Latin text Tribulationes civitatum audivimus, quas passae sunt, et defecimus. Timor et hebetudo mentis cecidit super nos, et super liberos nostros. Ipsi montes nolunt recipere fugam nostram. Domine, miserere.

English translation We have heard of the tribulations of the cities, which they have suffered, and we have grown faint. Fear and dullness of mind have fallen upon us, and upon our children. Even the mountains refuse to receive our flight. Lord, have mercy.
