O virum mirabilem in signis et prodigiis,
languores cum daemoniis quoslibet pellentem.
Dat aurem suis avium praedicans
silvestrium verbis intendentem.
O vita laudabilem,
qua fidem sic magnificat;
sed et multos vivificat mortuos defunctus.
Francisce, nos caelestium fac consortes civium,
quibus es coniunctus.

O man marvelous for signs and miracles,
driving away afflictions sent by the devil,
giving ears and understanding
to the birds of the forest when he preached!
O praiseworthy life,
to [not only] increase faith
but to cause many dead to live!
Francis, make us citizens with those in heaven
among those to whom you are already joined.
