Manuscript c.1513–1525 in Royal 8 G. vii, no. 3
Description: Source: MS Royal 8.g.vii, copied by Alamire. Anonymous here, but attributed to both Févin and Mouton in other sources. The manuscript was produced for presentation to Catherine of Aragon and Henry VIII, and it must be for that reason that the names Catherine, Henry and (St) George appear in the text, having evidently been substituted for other names by the Alamire scriptorium: in Petrucci's print of 1514 - and in the Ann Boleyn Songbook - the names which appear are Ludovicus (i.e. Louis), Anna (Anne) and (St) Renata, rendering the text appropriate to the royal house of France.

Latin text
Adiutorium nostrum in nomine Domini.
Quis non confitebitur tibi?
Orat, plorat, exorat Katherina sibi.
Te orantes deprecamur
Fac ut cito adiuvemur per tuam clementiam.
O Georgi, tam beate, Henricus rex clamat ad te:
audi, quaeso, vocem nostram.
