Biography

Francis William Massi Hardman was born in Bolton, England, taking part of his name from his step-father Henry Massey (Massi), and is often referred to as ‘Francis William de Massi-Hardman’, William Francis Hardman, or F. W. H. Massi. He was apparently a pianist and was active as composer, conductor, and author. He wrote Practical guide for the Conductor and Useful Notes for the Orchestraç, and was Conductor of the Labor Orchestra. His known compositions include orchestral pieces, piano pieces, and songs.
