Biography

Horton Claridge Allison was born in Marylebone, London, England, the son of a language teacher. He studied at the Royal Academy Of Music, and in Leipzig. He graduated from Cambridge and Durham University. He became a concert pianist and music examiner and was organist at St. James’, Westminster St., London. He settled at Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester, Lancashire. He was an active composer and works include a symphony and other orchestral works, chamber works, a march for brass band, piano works, cantatas, anthems, songs, and part-songs. He died in Manchester, Lancashire, England.
