Edition notes: Instrumental bass passages are printed in the source using standard-sized notes, on the bass vocal stave: the marking 'Ins.' is used in the source to indicate these, and in bars 20-21 and 64-66, where the instrumental bass plays and the bass voices remain silent, this is indicated in the source with rests above the instrumental bass notes.
The repeated section (bars 56-63) is indicated in the source by segno markings at the beginning and a double bar line at the end.
The soprano part in bar 16, given here as a minim G followed by a minim rest, is printed in the source as a semibreve G. The soprano part on beat 1 of bar 33, given here as quavers F and E, is printed in the source as a small quaver grace note F followed by a full sized crotchet E. The alto part on beat 1 of bar 42, given here as crotchets F and E, is printed in the source as a small quaver grace note F followed by a full sized minim E.
