Biography
Scottish composer, arranger and music publisher. Appointed Chamber Composer to George III. Sometimes credited (on the evidence of a surviving longcase clock with musical train) with being the composer of the English National Anthem. Published many individual songs, both Scottish traditional, and of his own composition.
