Biography

Nothing is known about John Cornysh. He is not known to have been related to the musical Cornyshes in London. He may possibly have been the John Cornysh of Winchester who became a scholar at Winchester College, aged 11, in 1472. Alternatively, since his only composition survives in a manuscript connected with the West Country, he may have hailed from that area.
