Biography
John Whittaker lives in Reading, Berkshire, UK. He has written a number of songs and song-cycles for voice and piano, some short choral pieces (including some Shakespeare settings), several cantatas for children's choir with instrumental accompaniment, some short orchestral pieces and two one-act operas. His most substantial work is his chamber opera of 50 mins. duration based on the Thomas Hardy play, 'The Three Wayfarers'. His music is strongly influenced by English folk-music and the music of Vaughan Williams.
