Editor: Jonathan Goodliffe (submitted 2020-04-13).   Score information: A4, 28 pages, 342 kB   Copyright: CPDL
Edition notes: The bass part in the fourth choir is marked "ministriles", suggesting that it may have been intended for instruments instead of (or as well as) voices. There was originally no text under the bass part. It has been added editorially. :The section in Chirimía 2, bars 130 to 132 in small type was reconstructed. :The chirimías and the sackbuts were originally in F and were transposed. This leaves the first sackbut rather high. :

General Information

Title: Nunc dimittis a 15
Composer: Francisco Valls

Number of voices: 10vv   Voicing: A.TT.SST.SATB
Genre: SacredMorning Canticles

Language: Latin
Instruments: Mixed ensemble

First published: Not known
Description: A nunc dimittis with 10 (or possibly only 9, if the Ministriles part is taken only by a sixth instrument?) singing voices and 5 instrumental parts. A Chirimía is a species of shawm. There are 4 parts in the 5th, instrumental, choir, making a total of 14 parts. This suggests that one part (perhaps the alto in the 3rd choir) is missing. Nonetheless the work sounds complete the way it is.
