French text (modernized) Qui veut d'amour savoir tous les ébats S'envienne à moi, car je suis bien apris. Premier se sont accords pleins de débats, Chasse pénible où le veneur est pris; C'est un métier dont le maître est repris; Aigre plaisir mêlé de doulé rage, Et puis honneur qui se tourne à mépris, Où plus est fol celui qui est plus sage.

English translation Whoever wants to know about all love's tricks looks me since I am expert. First there are agreements with many arguments; an arduous hunt in which the huntsman is caught; it is a subject in which the adept is taken down; a bitter pleasure alloyed with pained anger, and then respect which turns to contempt, in which the wisest is the most foolish.
