Lo! the day’s champion, the golden sun,
His measured course of cloudless blue, hath run;
The seagull screaming, seeks her cliff-built nest,
The moon lifts o’er the deep her silver crest.
Our lovely bark, with kisses soft and light,
Must fly from wave to wave, and bid good night.
