Description: The order of staves in the source is Alto - Tenor - Soprano - Bass, with the alto and tenor parts notated in the treble clef an octave above sounding pitch. No text is underlaid in the source, although Hymns 286 and 605 (of the Collection of Hymns for the Use of the People called Methodists) are specified. The present text is that of Hymn 605: the alternative text, Hymn 286, is 'Abraham, when severely tried'. This tune is attributed to 'Wm. Besley' in the source, and is marked with an asterisk, used in that work to indicate tunes 'composed by modern and living authors'.
