A sound of music floateth
Upon the morning air;
The voices of little children
Chanting their simple prayer.
Softly their holy burden
Heavenward the breezes bear,
Till by sweet choirs of angels,
’Tis caught up and echoed there.

And He, above, who listens,
Is the same who spake of old,
Those words on our hearts that are written
In characters of gold:
“Forbid not the little children,
Let them come unto me,
For of such is my Father’s Kingdom,
They who enter, like these must be.”
