Amor' m'hà disfidat' alla battaglia,
  La fronte di madonna sarà il campo
  E tremo e spero et ard'e non hò scampo.

I beì capelli d'or saran la corda
  E li sguardi saette i cigli gl'archi
  Gli occhi lucent' archibusetti carchi.

Io porto trombett' alti sospiri
  Humiltà per impresa et ella altiera
  Hà l'arme nude e sdegn' a la bandiera.

Sputando il sol cominciarem l'assolto
  Bench' a la donna mia leggiadr' e audace
  Mi aarrendrò gridando pace pace.
