Description: "And Yet Not Weep" (available in both SSAA and SATB settings) has a madrigal-like layout and character, with a strict adherence between words and music. It is divided into three sections: an Andante dolente with an expressive character, a Poco muovendo where the word “drop” features a musical imitation of Christ’s blood loss, and a final Estatico where lavish harmonies help contemplate Christ on the cross and all the weeping around, leading to a mildly dissonant ending.

Am I a stone, and not a sheep,
That I can stand, O Christ, beneath Thy cross,
To number drop by drop Thy blood's slow loss,
And yet not weep?
