The foe, the foe’s advancing,
Behold his banners dancing,
His glaives, like fire, are glancing—
The wolves of battle call.
He comes with shout insulting,
But we, our hearts exulting,
Are ready, Isle of Freedom?
To fight to fall.

They’ll sing of us in story,
Who, true in tumult gory,
Upraised thy Crown of glory,
To Heaven’s rampart high:
For thee, we scorn the scoffer,
For thee, our swords we proffer,
For thee, our blood we offer,
Gladly we die!
