English text
Beyond life’s troubled sea
There is a peaceful shore;
Oh! may we there, at last,
Rest when our journey’s o’er.
The angels bright are there,
And there the saints of old;
And some, once by our side,
Now tread that strand of gold;
Lost to us here a while,
But only gone before
Where sin and sorrow cease,
And partings are no more.
Dangers are ours to brave,
And many a stormy blast,
Ere in th’eternal calm
The anchor may be cast;
But there is One can save,
Whate’er our peril be,
A voice that stilled the wind
And the waves on Galilee.
