Starlight gilds the rolling waves,
Onward bounds our merry bark,
Sea nymphs revel in their caves,
Why shouldn’t we enjoy a lark?
Evening breezes softly sigh,
Volumes speak from every eye;
Happiness reigns when we are out
Sailing on the lake.
Starlight on the lake,
O beautiful starlight on the lake.
Music now is heard
and joyous hearts break forth in song,
On the lake we glide
as dashes our boat along.
Come away when the silvery waves
break on the beautiful lake.
