Italian text «Io mi son giovinetta, e rido e canto alla stagion novella», cantava la mia dolce pastorella, quando subitamente a quel canto il cor mio cantò, quasi augellin vago e ridente: «Son giovinetto anch’io, e rido e canto alla gentil e bella primavera d’Amore che ne’ begli occhi tuoi fiorisce». Ed ella: «Fuggi, se saggio sei (disse) l’ardore, fuggi, ch’in questi rai primavera per te non sarà mai».

Czech translation „Jsem mladičká, chci se smát a jásavě vítat jaro!“ zpívala kdysi má spanilá vyvolená. A vzápětí mé srdce vesele zazpívalo v odpověď: „I já jsem mladý a směji se a opěvuji krásné a milostné jaro, které kvete v tvých veselých očích.“A ona: „Vezmi rozum do hrsti a uteč,“ řekla, „ než shoříš na troud. V těchto očích ti nikdy štěstí nepokvete!“

French translation "Je suis jeune et je chante, je ris à la saison nouvelle" chantait ma jolie bergère et soudain mon cœur entendant cette chanson chanta tel un oiseau joyeux : "Je suis jeune moi aussi et je chante au beau printemps de l'amour qui fleurit dans tes beaux yeux" Et elle de répondre "Fuis si tu es sage, fuis l'ardeur, fuis car dans ces yeux, il n'y aura jamais de printemps pour toi".
