Hark! the lark in cloudland soaring
    Sings to dawn the carol clear;
Sweet, awake, the world is waking,
    Night is sped and I am here!

Roses at thy lattice cluster,
    Thou art fairest rose of all;
When thou comest, it is morning,
    When thou goest, night doth fall.
Sweet, look forth, the night is over,
