Where silver waves are dancing,
And merry sunbeams play,
And gleam like dazzling jewels,
O come, let us away.
We’ll float where winds may waft us,
As careless and as free,
Upon the laughing waters
As waves and breezes be.

Where silver waves are dancing,

A band of merry makers,
We’ll have a holiday.
Where silver waves are dancing,
And sunbeams brightly play,
We’ll float with joyous carols,
And have a holiday.

We’ll leave all tasks behind us,
Bid every care take flight,
Enjoy the golden present,
And revel in its light.
The water’s swaying motion
Our bark shall bear along,
In measure with our voices
That rise in happy song.

Our strains of mirthful music
Shall zephyrs bear afar,
But not a note of sadness
Our happiness shall mar.
We’ll sing of naught but gladness,
And take the welcome dower
