Holyoke 1791
Angels, roll the rock away,
Den of death, resign thy prey.
See, the Savior quits the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom.

Shout, shout ye seraphs, Gabriel, raise
Fame's eternal trump of praise.
Let the earth's remotest bound
Echo to the blissful sound.

Saints of God, lift up your eyes,
See the Conqueror scale the skies.
Troops of angels on the road,
Hail and sing the incarnate God.

Heaven unfolds its portals wide,
Matchless hero, through them ride.
King of glory, mount thy throne,
Boundless empire is thine own.

Hallelujah, Amen.

Rippon's Selection, 1792
1. Angels, roll the rock away,
Death yield up thy mighty prey:
See! he rises from the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom.

2. Tis the Savior, angels, raise
Fame's eternal trump of praise;
Let the earth's remotest bound
Hear the joy-inspiring sound.

3. Now, ye saints, lift up your eyes,
Now to glory see him rise,
In long triumph up the sky,
Up to waiting worlds on high.

4. Heaven displays her portals wide,
Glorious hero, through them ride:
King of glory, mount thy throne,
Thy great Father's and thy own.
