Italian text Donna s'io miro voi, ghiaccio divengo, Si di mirar m'astengo D'un infinito ardore mi si consuma il core. Non so che m'abbi luoco : Mirar m'è ghiaccio, non mirar m'è fuoco.

English translation I need but look at you to pay the price: Upon the instant I am turned to ice. No remedy to turn aside my gaze – Unfailingly I feel my heart ablaze. I am lost whichever way I turn: Look, and I freeze, yet otherwise I burn. Translation by Mick Swithinbank
