Original text and translations
The translation of " au voy" at the end of the second line remains a mistery: no dictionary consulted revealed a meaning for "voy". The reported text of Le Jeune's version offers "au boy", which is not convincing, neither is "openly" (CD Philip van Wilder, Complete Sacred Music, Chansons; Cantores, David Allinson) and "oho!" (Gerald H. Hoekstra, Le Rossignol musical des chansons (Antwerp, 1597); A-R Editions). Maître Gosse has "o voy", which also does not help.
