Biography
Marcellus Webster Moore was born in Wheeling, Indiana. He and his brothers attended numerous singing schools throughout the region in their youth. He taught music in Illinois at Urbana High School and in the Champaign Public Schools and became Supervisor of Music at Southern Illinois Normal School in Carbondale. He died in Rossville, Indiana. He composed hymns and songs for schools. With his brothers Addison, Charles, William, all music teachers, he wrote the music book The Regulus, and wrote the collection Musical Gems with his brother Charles.
