German text Mein Freund komme in seinen Garten und esse von seinen edlen Früchten. Ich komme, meine Schwester, liebe Braut, in meinen Garten. Ich habe meine Myrrhen samt meinen Würzen abgebrochen; ich habe meines Seims samt meinem Honig gegessen; ich habe meines Weins samt meiner Milch getrunken. Esset, meine Lieben, und trinket, meine Freunde, und werdet trunken!

English translation Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
