Tu segui, o bella Clori, un fuggitivo core,
e 'l mio tu fuggi, ch'arde sól d'amore.
Ah, non fuggir chi t'ama,
sprezza chi te non brama!
E s'hai d'amor desio
ama me sól, perché te sól amo io.

English translation

You pursue, beautiful Chloris, a fugitive heart,
and flee from mine, which burns with love alone.
Ah, flee not from him who loves you,
despise him who does not desire you!
And if you desire love,
love me alone, for I love you alone.
