1. Wie so öde sind die Gassen,
und die Luft ist stumm und schwer;
meine Heimat muss ich lassen,
seh' sie nun und nimmermehr.
2. Einmal noch in heißem Sehnen
wendet rückwärts sich der Blick,
einmal noch mit stummen Tränen
schau' ich in das Tal zurück.
3. Lebe wohl! Aus fernen Gassen
wehet noch ein Tüchlein her;
meine Heimat muss ich lassen,
seh' sie nun und nimmermehr.
