Vieni, dolc’Hymineo,
e in dolce nodo e in pura fiamma viva
lor alm’accend’ et stringa.

Indi gl’acuti stral et spend’e indori,
sciolto da gl’occhi il velo
spiri gioia ogni parte et l’aria odori,
Et ogn’antr’ e ogni lido in dolce tempre
Alessandr’ et Maria risuoni sempre.
Vieni, dolc’Hymineo,

Come, sweet Hymen,
come and inflame by holiest fire
the heart of such a welcome and beautiful couple.
Amor, do by white (silver?) olive branches
crown the temples of both,
and by a sweet node and apure vivacious flame
kindle their souls and tie them together.

Then send out and gild the pointed arrows,
as the veil has been lifted from the eyes,
pour out joy everywhere and fill the air with odours,
now that the third heaven shows itself on earth,
and every cave and every strand shall in sweet manner
always resound Alessandro and Maria.
Come, sweet Hymen, …
